Related to the brick rule, where can we find the "official" DUC house rules?
For example, I've heard, and abide by "no foot blocks" because this just seems like a good way to break fingers. However, watching videos, it seems like this is acceptable elsewhere.
Is there a list written down somewhere that I don't know how to find? |

On the left hand side of this DUC site, there is a rules section that has Short Rules, Long Rules and DUC Tie Breaker Formula. If you click on Long Rules you will get a link that you can click that will take you here: http://www.upa.org/ultimate/rules/11th_links
Click that link and those are the rules we use. |

So I guess to phrase my question better, what are the special understood house rules of DUC, over and above the UPA rules?
The "no foot block" is a good example of what I'm asking for. We've said in DUC we don't use foot blocks, but the UPA rules do not forbid it. (and believe me, I *like* the rule) How would someone new to the league find this particular rule out (aside from the hard way)?
Is this the only rule that we have that isn't in the UPA rules (minus the tiebreaker formula/defaulting)?
If not, are they documented anywhere? I saw the 2008 captain's minutes - that mentions the game default rule - but nothing about the foot block, for example. |
