Does anyone want to help out in the planning and running activities at this event. We have rented the old Knights of Columbus park (now Kendal Park) which has a hall, a pool and lots of open space for outdoor games. Here are some of the events we hope to hold. If you want to help out organize any of them let me know. I would love to form a committee of excited individuals.
Frisbee Golf - always an awesome event and Beatty and MacLeod will organize this.
BBQ - do we get a bunch of people to bring BBQs or do we rent big ones and get someone to BBQ?
Kids games - I need some people to organize these for sure. Sounds like something Dicki and some elementary teachers could organize in their sleep.
swimming - they can provide us with guards or we can find our own.
adult games - cups, bocce, tips, flip cups, frisbee relay, accuracy competition, longest self catch etc.
Dance in the hall? - I'm not sure if we want to do this or not but we have the hall rented until 12 or 1 am.
camp fire -
alcohol - the park staff will be selling beer and other drinks all day long to those people with proper ID
Hanging out - socializing should take care of itself
Camping - this is allowed so long as you are gone by 8 am before the church ladies show up. |
