Can someone explain a pick for me. I am very unsure of what this means when it is called and have read the rules but I think I need an example.

-You are a defender and defending against a player (ie: not just defending a zone).
-You are within 3 metres (10 feet) from the person you are trying to defend for the entire sequence.

A pick is when at any point someoneon either team, intentionally or unintentionally, gets in the way such that you are required to stop defending in order to avoid contact.

A pick is commonly addressed by the player on offence stopping or slowing so that you can catch up. The thrower should recognize the call and not throw the disc to said player. Again the Continuation rule XVI.C. would apply. This rule allows for fouls to be called and not stop the flow of the game.
