So is it true that the hucking team must match the gender ratio of the receiving team? ie. if the receiving team wants to put out 4 girls and 3 guys, the hucking team must match?
And if this is the correct interpretation of the rules, what is the call if the hucking team only has 3 girls, and cannot match the receiving team, should they decide to put out 4 girls? Do they have to play a "person" short - ie. with only 6 players on the field? |

i though it didn't matter how many guys or girls were on as long as the ratio was 4:3. 4 guys and 3 girls or 4 girls and 3 guys.
i figured the reason why it is typically 4 guys and 3 girls is because there always seem to be more guys on a team then girls.
so is DUC offically or unofficially 4 guys and 3 girls?
if the ratio cannot be made because of a lack of guys is that considered a forfit? say your have 3 guys show up and 8 girls. you could still play 4 girls and 3 guys.

| I thought that it was a minimum of 3 girls. So even if you had 4 or 5 girls on then it didn't matter. It just meant that they would be matched up against guys. |

Drugstore Cowboys sometimes uses a 4:3 ratio girls to guys.
infact this year we played a few points with 5 girls and 2 guys. |

as far as i know you do not have to match up. i have never heard that rule or option.
at the most if a team is short on girls both teams can agree to play 5 guys and 2 girls.
from what ive seen over the years, anything can go as long as both teams agree on it. |

| Although DUC is 4 guys and 3 girls, if teams wish to play 4 girls and 3 guys the other team does not have to match. Some tournaments and leagues play the match system but we do not. Most teams are short on girls, which is why we do it this way. |

So should the DUC league have their own official rule book? I have looked at a couple different rule books lately. The one we received at the start of league did not have actual ultimate rules in it. Then i looked at the 11th edition of the official ultimate rule book.
I think since there are differences with the rules between other leagues and tournaments that an official DUC rulebook should be set. That way there is no gray area and each team (even being in A division) doesn't have questionable incidences on the field. (which there has been questionable calls during my games for both my team and the opposing team)

Thats something we can look into but that a lot of work to basically copy the rules then edit them to better fit the DUC.
At the beginning of the season it was stated that its 4 guys 3 girls.. and that the MUST was 3 girls.. Any variations of this MUST be discussed between the captains and agreed on before game play.. ie..
Ratios of (guys : girls)
3:4, 2:5, 3:3..
If captains AGREE upon the terms, then game play resumes.. if the other team cannot field a 4:3 ratio, its a default..
As for matching, thats a league thing/tourney thing. Some have it.. some dont(like us)
