Hi Everyone!
Just letting you know that we are testing a new Game Attendance feature on the site.
The attendance feature allows everyone on your team to indicate whether they can make it to the next game or not, and also leave a short comment.
The attendance is team specific, meaning that you can only see attendance for the games/eventsyour team belongs to. What this means is you need to be logged into the site to update your attendance, and to view your team's attendance. If you are not logged into the site, then game attendance will not be available.
Team Members/Players: To see an attendance summaries, go to your team's main page (under Divisions/Teams/Schedule), and click on the More Info button for any upcoming event. A quick summary of attendance for your team will be displayed on the game information page, and an attendance button is available that allows you to see more specific attendance information (such as who can make it, and comments etc.).
Team Captains: We have revamped the main page for Team Captains, to include a summary of recent games, and a detailed summary of attendance for your next game. To see this information, log in, and click on the Team Settings link at the upper right corner of the page.
The attendance feature is quite simple to use, feel free to try it out over the next few weeks, and encourage everyone on your team to use it.
If you are having problems with the attendance, you can post it here, and I will respond. Also if you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to post as well.
Thanks Marc

UNBELIEVABLE IDEA! I'm a fan of the changes. Keep the brain train on track, this last idea is very splendiferous!

great work marc! definitely a fan of this feature (as per my previous email) but if you dont mind my saying so it seems that it could be more user friendly in that some members have enough trouble doing the basics on here. is there any way to have an 'attendance' tab added to make it even easier to access? just a thought
batman.
by the way scowgie, love the pic...would you like fries with that?!?

Thanks for the good words, and ideas.
Actually the attendance will be displayed anywhere there is a More Info link to pop-up additional information about the event. If you belong to a team associated with the event, you will see the attendance displayed. Attendance displayed in this fashion should be accessable across the whole site, and everywhere events are displayed. So yes, it is slightly buried, but hopefuly I can work on making it easier for players to update and view. Right now I am more interested in making sure the core functionality is working properly.
Attendance tab is a great idea. I was trying to figure out the best way for people to update/view attendance while limiting the amount space to display it. I will probably only make the tab visible if you are logged in and belong to the team. Is there any reason why I shouldn't restrict it? In the coming weeks I will see about adding something like this.
Looking into the future, I might also provide functionality to allow people to update their attendance when they receive their game notifications (e-mail). This is probably the best way to ensure that attendance is being used by everyone.
Well keep the comments coming, I really appreciate them.
Thanks Marc
p.s. The pic made me laugh, hopefully it did the same for you

I am on vacation and just got onto the website after a few days. I haven't tested the feature yet, but it looks awesome. You had said about adding the link to the emails being sent to remind players about the games. This is a great idea, however, this would mean worst case, I will not know my numbers until the default 8 hours before the game. If my team will use this, it will make my job much easier!!
Great work. |

Well, using it myself, I can see some areas of improvements. So I will keep everybody posted on that front.
Also, I was thinking about changing the default notification timeperiod to 24 hours. Does anybody have any objections to that? I am interested in hearing people out.
Thanks goes to everyone for your comments and suggestions.
