Hey everybody,
I posted a while ago looking for interest in a possible charity tourny.

So now I am posting because it is definately going to happen, and we need teams!
The tournament is going to be on SATURDAY JULY 22, and will be held at the Soccer and football fields at EASTDALE COLLEGIATE in OSHAWA! Registration is going to be $120 per team (if you have 15 people, it works out to $8 per person). The tourny will be run by francophone volunteers who are staying in Durham for 6 weeks on an exchange with the Summer work Student Exchange program (www.summer-work.com), and funds raised will go to Breakfast for Learning--Canada's only non-profit dedicated solely to childhood nutrition.

It's a great cause, a great chance to get out and play some ultimate (and learn as well.....I know I learned a TON from just the one tournament in Fergus!), as well as getting the word out about the SWSE, Breakfast for Learning, and the DUC. We are currently working on getting the word out about the tourny via. TV and Print, but I think the most effective will be word of mouth! ANY and ALL DUC teams as welcome, as well as teams from other areas.

Anyone interested in signing up, or wanting more info, please contact me (Gill) at gi ... @gmail.com, or catch me on a Sunday (I'm on the Drugstore Cowboys).

Thanks!

Hey Everybody,
Just wanted to let you all know that Marc has posted some details about the tourny...its in the Tournaments section on the left column.

I have heard from a couple teams from the DUC and some ppl from Peterborough, but the more the better.
Anyone who wants to play, please contact me. Talk to your teams, talk to your friends, talk to anyone who likes to get out and play some sports on a Saturday afternoon.

Hope to year from some more of you.

Hi Gill,
my wife and I are interested in playing in your tourney. We will try to convince our team to play as well, but if we can't get the numbers, are we able to sign up individually? (ie will there be a team we can be assigned to?)

Thanks!
Alex

Hi Alex!
I have had a number of people ask me about the same thing. Try to get your team to enter, but if not I can probably set you guys up.
Keep my posted.

Hey Everyone,
I have recieved a bunch of emails from teams expressing interest, and I just wanted to post a reminder that the tourny is July 22, and registration deadline is July 8...so teams that want to play, or individuals that need/want teams, you need to get in touch with me soon.

I made the tourney as simple as possible...
double-knock-out format.
Which means everyone is guaranteed to play at least 2 but most will play more.
