Whats the tie breaking procedure for two teams that finish with the same record (worst record in the middle group) having each only beaten each other? Who goes down and who stays? |

Wait a minute Kyle... You play on 2 teams?

I assume from your post that you must have been Huck U on the weekend. The score has not been updated. If that is the case and assuming you both lose or both win your last games then I guess it would be points for and against in the games you played against each other. If however, one of you wins your last game and the other loses, then that team would stay up. |

Can I vote for not this system next year? I do not understand it to begin with (and I realize I could read articles on the internet and self-learn, but I play Frisbee to play Frisbee, not read), but from a competitive perspective it is very deflating. We win, we don't move up, we lose we somehow end up in the basement. with the second most wins in the Lower division, how are we last place? our overall ELO is -9? does it reset every round of games? if that's the case, didn't i read in an initial post that its only accurate after 20+ games or something? so resetting would make no sense. I'm confused
Not trying to be a complainer, as I love DUC and appreciate all the work that goes into trying to keep everyone happy, but I'd rather next year if there are uneven teams for each league, just have every REC team play a Competitive team 2-3 times and get our a*ses kicked. At least we might learn something. |

Standings are updated. ELO is gone.
The reason for the weirdness for the past couple of weeks is the Starting ELO for teams needed to be manually entered each week by an admin and this process fell by the wayside. |

The ladder system was not working. With teams moving up and down divisions it messed with the whole ELO system. So I stopped updating the ELOs. Once I stopped inputting the Previous weeks ELO the system was just ranking according to the teams last game. Next year we will likely not have the ELO ranking. The 3 mini divisions seems to have worked well and we will likely just continue to use that next year and rank teams according to wins and losses. For this season the only win loss columns that are an accurate reflection of their season is the top teams that have remained in the top division all season. The lower division standings are affected by who moved up and down. For example: A team that is in the lower division who never moved up to the middle division could have a much better record than a team that was better than them and moved up a couple of times. My suggestion is just play and ignore the standings. |

I personally like this system. As Paul said every game counts.. and games are all pretty good matches.. at least more so than being stuck in one division. As for us we have been in the middle and trying hard to move up which hasn't quite happened yet, but that just makes us work harder. In the meantime the games have been challenging and fun.
I hope teams that earn the right to move up gain from the experience and enjoy the extra challenge as we did when we first moved up to comp under the old system. We took some mighty horrific beat downs, but we learned a lot and had fun playing a new class of teams.. and eventually we got better. Following the philosophy of Mr. Sigs, it is far more rewarding to lose and learn and improve, than it is to win more often and be less challenged (like anything in life really).
Cheers!
