Backdraft 2017 Information
We are happy to announce that Backdraft will be returning for 2017!
The team is looking to build on the success that it has had over the past seasons with the addition of our first non-playing coach, Kenny Magill. Kenny brings a wealth of experience to the team and we are confident that his guidance will help the team make it to the next level!
Worlds is being held is Cincinnati, Ohio in 2018- the top Canadian club teams at the 2017 CUC tournament will have the honour of representing Canada. We want Backdraft to be one of these teams!
Fitness will be a major factor in attaining this goal. The team will continue to develop offensive and defensive strategy but there will be a greater emphasis put on conditioning this summer.
Tiered System
Over the past few seasons we have been trying hard to develop a tiered system to develop the talent coming out of the Durham area. This has been a slow process and is something we are still looking to work on. This year we are hoping that we will have enough players to support a B team. The objective of the tiered system is to help players that are not quite ready for competitive touring get touring experience and develop their skills.
The goal this year is to have a B roster participating at local tournaments. This means we need to have an active roster and a candidate willing to Captain the squad. Players interested in playing with the B squad are required to come to the tryout dates listed below.

Player Expectations
1. Adhere to player code of conduct
2. Attend weekly practices May-August; additional practice dates and times will be added closer to major tournaments as required.
3. Player fee of $125 to be paid upon making the roster. This fee will cover tournament registrations for the season. Note- it does not include your Ultimate Canada registration fee, or accommodations and depending on how many tournaments we enter, there could be additional fees. Fee payment will be required by 12-May-2017.
4. Uniforms- Mandatory white jersey, black jersey and black shorts with number. Past kits cost approximately $92. Optional- red long sleeve warm up jersey ($37). Fee payment will be required by 12-May-2017.
5. Player committees will be set up once the roster is finalized (Strategy, Practice/Fitness and Travel)
