Does anyone have an opinion on which field is typically better. We will not need both this season and so I am going to be cancelling one of them. One difference is that Sherwood runs East West and Deer Valley runs North South like the Ritson fields. With the wind normally coming from the West and blowing East there would be a definite upwind/Downwind advantage at Sherwood whereas at Deer Valley it would be a crosswind similar to Ritson. Not sure which is better. I think Deer Valley runs slightly uphill towards the North. How is the grass at both locations? Let me know your thoughts on this subject. |

I feel like the slope (down to the west) is more pronounced at Sherwood? Although it's closer to the ritson fields, so keeps the travel about the same week to week, and it's easier for peeps playing 5&7.
No opinion which is better. |

I like deer Valley, but that's also because you're not competing with Baseball parking sometimes. I agree with the wind situation likely affecting both teams equally in either direction. Sherwood I find it's often points in one direction only if there's any wind.
Another note, last year I got some serious dirt burn (is that a thing?) because the grass was completely gone around the soccer nets at Sherwood. The end zones were pretty bad last year when it was dry, |

Thanks for you input. I also talked with some other people and they thought that Deer Valley was a better choice. So I will be scheduling at deer valley from now on. I will leave the 5 pm game for this coming weekend at sherwood but will change all the others to deer valley. |
