Hey all, below is a link to a DUC poster and I would like members to try and put the poster up in as many Gyms or other public areas as possible. Before putting up posters please ask for permission (if possible). To put one up you will need either tape or a tack. If you put one up please mention it here for two reasons: 1. so we don't hit any one facility more than once and 2. to let everyone know that DUC members care about the growth of the league. When the league started, myself, Dan Stokes and Dan Macmaster put out posters in as many Gyms as we could and we got enough individuals to have 8 teams that first year. Imagine if we could get that many people again? For years we didn't have enough fields to bother advertising for growth but now we have secured fields on Wednesdays and Thursdays and this is freeing up some time on Sundays. If we want this league to grow we need to reach out to a new group of people. The logical place is gyms because these people are interested in getting fit. Other good locations could be at schools, churches, fund raisers, hockey rinks etc. Thanks for your help. |

Hey I just took a boo at the poster and noticed that nowhere on it does the word Frisbee appear (that I saw anyway). Now I know it's not 'cool' and you should just have to say 'ultimate' and we all know what that means and more and more schools have teams.. BUT.. for the older crowd who might not be familiar they might not have a clue what ultimate is and the picture isn't exactly blatantly clear.
So it may be too late for changes this go around, but it might be worth considering next time to include Ultimate Frisbee and also stress the fact that it's all about spirit, in order to draw the less confident crowd.
My 1 1/2 cents. Manny |

Manny you know I cannot use the 'F' word. And if people don't understand the picture then we don't want them. But thanks for your input, I will consider your requests. |

Has anyone put any up? I put some at Good life and the metro in the Bowmanville mall, plus the Oshawa Civic. |
