Im just reading of over the Captins Meeting Minutes and I am a little confused about the default structure.
It says "Defaults – six players with a minimum of 2 girls within 5 minutes of game time. Captains must be fair and give default wins when their team is late..."
Does this mean that you default if you only have 2 girls? Or is that the minimum you need to NOT default?
Any official clarification?

I think it's pretty much within 5 minutes of the game you MUST have a full team to play.. Full team meaning MINIMUM 3 girls and 4 guys(or vise versa). If you do not have a full team at the field 5 minutes before start time, captains MUST talk and the team without the full team MUST default.
This will encourage everyone to get to the fields and start the games ON TIME. Last year several games were not starting for 10-20 minutes after starting time as the other teams players were "still coming but late"

It helps, but it makes me sad and worried because my team has 3 full time females and 1 part time female.

Going back to last year, I think that 4 guys/2 girls is the MINIMUM requirement to play.
Only a defualt if you couldn't meet the 4/2 ratio.

Ratios have always been the same..
Minimum 3 girls to play or the team defaults...
However.. Captains HAVE in the past talked and agreed to play different ratios and in some cases the 4/2.
This year the rules are set that if you CANNOT field a full team with a minimum of 3 girls for a total of 7 players.. the team is to FOREFIT(Default) the game and play a fun scrimmage in its place.
Captains are Encouraged to ENFORCE this rule this season. It does not go against the "Spirit of the Game" either as some people have commented to me outside of the forums.
Hopefully this season we will not run into this very often... Captains are also encouraged to get your team to the field 10 minutes before the game as a minimum to start the games on time. |

| We did agree at the captains meeting in 2007 that to start a game you need a minimum of 6 players. Either 4 guys and 2 girls or 3 guys and 3 girls. |

Hi all - during the Spring 2008 Captain's meeting, defaults were discussed. I was not there, however, as requested, I sent an alternate. I was told that during the meeting, it was adamantly stated that the 4 men and 3 ladies rule should be enforced this year and that making "alternate arrangements" should be minimized to ensure that less defaults occur. This no longer stands???? Just wondering what changed from Iain's original answer to this post.
I am all for the spirit of the game and adjusting the ratios if it is done in good spirit.

I thought it was 4:3 as well. That's what i wrote down, but after talking it over with others at the meeting it was said that a MINIMUM was to be 4:2 or 3:3 Ratios.
So my original post was Crap-Tastic.. Sorry for the confusion :-\ |
